Meet Our Team

Autumn
Practice Manager

Autumn started with us in June 2012. She comes with over 35 years of experience in the veterinary field and is currently our Practice Manager. She is originally from the Catskills in upstate New York. She studied animal bioscience at Penn State and graduated from West Virginia Canine College with a degree in advanced dog training. She started at an AAHA accredited animal hospital in Ferndale, New York in 1987. She stayed with that hospital as their receptionist, veterinary assistant and assistant to the office manager until 1998. She also ran her own successful dog training business when not working at the animal hospital. She moved to North Carolina in 1998 then moved to Brunswick County in 2001. She worked at Companion Animal Hospital in Shallotte from 2002 until 2011 as their office manager, receptionist and veterinary assistant. She lives at home with her husband Daniel, her son Colton, their German Shepherd Luna and 3 cats names Noel, Minu, and Nunu.

Morgan
Work Flow Administrator

Morgan joined the RRAH family in 2021 after ditching her native Atlanta, GA home for the coast of North Carolina. Morgan has worked in animal healthcare for the past 13 years and fell in love with veterinary medicine while in college at the University of North Georgia. Morgan has a passion for veterinary medicine and helping cultivate that passion for others. She has her bachelor’s degree in fine arts with a concentration in ceramic arts. You can find her at the beach, reading, or hanging out at home with her critters. She lives with her two orange tabby cats; Princess Buttercup a.k.a. “Butter” and Westley along with her two dogs; Buoy the Bahamian Potcake and Kodak the Chihuahua.

Caroline
Client Care Coordinator

Caroline is originally from the Catskills in Upstate, NY. She graduated from Sullivan County College with a degree in Business. She retired from the Bank of America/Merrill Lynch where she worked for 26 years as a Branch Manager and Financial Advisor. She moved to Ash, NC in 2014 where she lives with her husband, Eddie and their rescued cat, Reese. Caroline joined the RRAH family as a receptionist and is now the Care Coordinator and the Inventory Manager. When she is not working she enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the beach, and being with her family.

Misty
New Client Coordinator

Misty is a sincere, curious, hard-working gal that grew up on a dairy farm in western North Carolina. She currently lives in Southport with her family that includes Tripp, a golden retriever, Loki (a Scooby Doo lookalike), two cats, some pet rats and a chicken…or two…or ten:-)

Mike
Administrator

Mike is a North Carolina native and attended UNC Charlotte with a major in Accounting. Prior to coming to RRAH in 2012 he owned his own Real Estate Development and Construction businesses for many years. Mike grew up with a love of animals, the outdoors, and wildlife. Like many North Carolinians he grew up with a love of the Coast, and had previous experience with Southport and it’s atmosphere. In 2008 he and his wife Sally decided it was time to pack their bags and move from Winston-Salem to Southport. All of their 6 children are grown and they have 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mike’s family also includes Skipper the Jack Russell Terrier.

Brad
Senior Technician and Inventory Manager

Brad attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he studied Biology and Psychology. Before coming to River Road Animal Hospital in 2007, Brad worked in laboratory medicine and pharmacology research and as wine bar manager for Landfall Country Club. He is experienced with dogs, cats, exotics, and wildlife. He lives with his Staffordshire Bull Terrier pup Puck!

Meghan
Veterinary Assistant

Meghan was born in Maryland but raised right here in Southport! Before coming to River Road she worked at Banfield Animal Hospital in Wilmington, NC. She has been a part of the RRAH family since 2016. She shares her home with her Fiancé and their “gaggle” of children along with their pond full of fish and her two cats Lionel and Oni. Meghan enjoys spending time with her family and crafting when she is away from the office.

Morgan
Veterinary Assistant

Morgan joined the RRAH family in 2020 and is working towards her goal of getting into vet school. She has always had a love for animals and enjoys getting the opportunity to care for them; especially geriatric patients. She lives with her pit mix Peeb, cats Liza, Lincoln, and Lunar, and her gerbils Pluto and Cloud. She enjoys going for hikes with Peeb and traveling in her time outside of work and school.

Sara
Veterinary Assistant

Sara joined the RRAH family in 2020. Prior to working here in Southport she was working at a mobile vaccine clinic in Florida while she attended the University of South Florida to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. While there she participated in research in the Herpetology and Entomology Laboratory assisting with population studies on native species. She enjoys her commute from her new home in Chadbourn. She spends her weekends at home with her geriatric pitbull Raven, Meeko the tiny terrorist cat, Riot the brat cat, and Jinx the scardy cat. Not to forget her long-lived much loved 13 year old fish Fred and George; yes ALL of them rode with her during the drive up from Florida.

Caroline
Veterinary Assistant

Caroline was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, relocating to Southport in February 2022. She has over 14 years in the veterinary field and is thrilled to be a part of the River Road family! In her free time, Caroline enjoys boating, the beach, and spending time with her family and two cats, Oliver and Petrie.

Corey
Kennel Assistant

Corey joined the RRAH family in 2020. While he is originally from Missouri he has lived most of his life in Southport. He was raised in a household full of animals and he fell in love with them at a young age. He loves working with all types of animals! Just before coming to RRAH he spent a year doing PTSD training for canines and he is excited to continue learning more about veterinary medicine. He lives with his two cats Saber and Everest. In his time off he enjoys camping, roller skating, and dancing.
