• Veterinary Partner. This site is the owner side of the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) – an online forum and database run by the top experts in every field of veterinary medicine all over the world. It has some of the best and most accurate information available and is easy to use and navigate. We will often provide you with a link to a certain illness or process so that you can have time to read and digest details that can be difficult to assimilate during a visit. We love this site!
• ASPCA Poison Control. The one stop spot for information on toxic plants, foods, household items and drugs that could hurt you pet. It’s always filled with current and seasonal tips and provides the emergency number to call if you need it.
• NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine Everything you need to know about the hospital at the veterinary school. They provide appointments with specialists, clinical trials and grief services.
• VSH. Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas provides specialists and referral services in the Raleigh area (they have multiple locations) outside of the vet school. Depending on what your pet needs and when, they may be another option. They have amazing staff and doctors and also provide emergency services if you are in the Raleigh area.
• Avian and Exotic Animal Care. By far the most specialized and experienced hospital for exotic pets. We consult and refer to them often.
• AVMA. The American Veterinary Medical Association’s pet owner page. Try out the Animal Health Smart Brief!
• AAFCO. Obsessed with pet food or just curious as to what “by-products” actually are? These are the people who set those standards and definitions. No bias, just the real information.
• ECVR and AETHW. Our local surgical referral, emergency and rehabilitation hospital in Wilmington.
• AAFP. The definitive site for cat health.
